Recently, our national dialogue has focused on child welfare and how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), like the loss of a caregiver or parent, can cause long-term emotional, psychological and physical damage.
The decision was made on June 20, 2018, to rescind the “zero-tolerance” policy regarding the removal of children from their families at the border. We believe that this is a good first step, but know that more work needs to be done.
