"We Knew Our Family Was Complete."

November 8, 2018

Summary

Nicholas was placed in foster care when he was two days old. While his foster parent provided a safe home for him for two years, Nicholas needed a forever home and a family.

After learning about the growing need for foster families for children like Nicholas, Matt, and Candice, who were raising two sons, decided to open their heart and home to another child.

They contacted Child Crisis Arizona to help them grow their family through foster care and adoption.

From the moment Matt and Candice, and their sons met Nicholas, they felt as if he had always been a part of their family. The whole family fell in love with him and were so excited to welcome him into their home. While guarded at first, Nicholas soon blossomed thanks to the love and friendship he received from his new family, especially his big brothers. One evening while the family was gathered together, Nicholas looked at his new family and said, “This is my home. This is my mommy. This is my daddy.” It was at that moment that Matt and Candice knew their family was complete. Most of all, they knew that Nicholas understood that he was in his forever home.

Matt and Candice credit Child Crisis Arizona with preparing them, and their sons, for the challenges and rewards of giving an at-risk child a forever home.
