June has been a busy month of construction and growth here at Child Crisis Arizona as we move into the next phase of our Strategic Growth Plan. The goal of this plan is to expand our prevention, intervention and early education services to serve more of the children and families who need us most.
Phase One of our growth plan was completed, providing safer and easier access for families, as well as all visitors to our Mesa facility, located at 817 N. Country Club Drive. This phase included and razing the building at 827 N. Country Club Drive. This paves the way to provide safer and easier access to our building by creating a new entrance and additional parking. We’d like to thank the City of Mesa Mayor John Giles, the Mesa City Council and the Mesa City Staff for supporting this project through a Community Development Block Grant. We also thank BCS Enterprises for donating demolition services to get this project started.
Our program expansion efforts are not only internally but also in the community. In June, we launched the Department of Child Safety’s Family Preservation program to provide in-home, family-centered services focusing on strengthening the family and maintaining a safe environment for children who may be at risk for abuse and neglect. The Family Preservation team will serve approximately 450 families each year providing vital services that complement our family education, intervention, and prevention programs.
