On April 28 Jeff Fantin, Child Crisis Arizona’s volunteer IT Director received the prestigious SRP Presidents’ Volunteer Spirit Award! Jeff was one of six SRP employees recognized for their volunteer work.
SRP honors employees who devote their time and talents by providing thousands of hours to worthy causes in Arizona. Jeff has dedicated the last 15 years to ensuring Child Crisis Arizona has the technology needed to be effective in the community.
In 2001, Jeff became a volunteer at Child Crisis Arizona when a co-worker asked him to assist with the ongoing support and maintenance of the agency’s IT system. It was a small organization then, with only a handful of computers. Over time, Child Crisis Arizona has grown to an organization of 250 employees and Jeff has played both a leadership and management role with executive staff and a technical role with onsite staff. Jeff continues to consults on all IT functions and oversees contract management, vendor negotiations, budgeting, planning and project management to ensure day-to-day support.
“My job at SRP has been invaluable in being able to help service Child Crisis Arizona. I truly enjoy IT and I’m able to get my hands on the technology and be the nerd I am deep down inside and at the same time build my skillsets, help people and do the things I enjoy. I do it for the kids and that’s really what it comes down to,” says Fantin
“Without Jeff, Child Crisis Arizona would not have the opportunity to grow and impact thousands of children and families over the past decade. With the full support of his employer, SRP, Jeff has transformed the agency with his IT and technology expertise,” says Torrie A. Taj, Child Crisis Arizona CEO. “Many people believe that volunteering at Child Crisis Arizona is about working directly with the children. With Jeff, giving indirectly helps our organization just as much.”
With the IT support Jeff provides, Child Crisis Arizona is able to reach more people and enhance its services throughout the community. Every dollar saved on IT services for the organization goes directly to helping the children and families we serve. Thank you, Jeff, for your long-time commitment to Child Crisis Arizona and congratulations on this well-deserved award!
