Arizona Gives Day is a single statewide day of giving that has raised $4.5 million for Arizona nonprofits since 2013. This year on April 5, you can support Child Crisis Arizona and help us continue our fight against child abuse and neglect.
Last year, 13,000 children were removed from their homes in Arizona due to abuse or neglect. Every day, Child Crisis Arizona works to protect children and make families stronger, by focusing on education, intervention and raising community awareness.
On April 5, take a stand. Join Child Crisis Arizona in combatting child abuse and neglect by donating on Arizona Gives Day. Together we can make a difference in the lives of children.
Donating on April 5 is the most impactful way to support Arizona Gives Day, You can also schedule a donation in advance (debit/credit cards only, e-checks must be used day-of), following the same process that you would make a donation day-of.
Remember when you support Child Crisis Arizona, your support will help children like Jazzie:
When Jazzie came into our care, she told us: “My mommy put me in the dryer.” The dryer was in an outdoor community laundromat. Jazzie thought she and her mommy were playing hide and seek. Her mom told her to hide in the dryer. Mom never came back, when Jazzie was found, she was rushed to the hospital where it took several days for her to recover from dehydration and heat exhaustion. Then she was admitted to our shelter.
When Jazzie arrived, she was 2 years old, but the ill-fitting clothes were for a 1-year-old. She was so tiny that she didn’t even register on the pediatric growth chart. Eventually, authorities found out who Jazzie’s mother was, but her mother never came to claim her. Many months later, Jazzie met a volunteer she called Miss Amy. She spent time with Miss Amy and one day, Jazzie realized that being with Miss Amy felt like the shelter-comfortable and safe. Seven months later, Jazzie went to live with Amy, who was licensed through Child Crisis Arizona’s foster care and adoption program. It’s been three years now, and Jazzie has found her forever home with her adoptive mom, Amy. The year she started kindergarten as a happy healthy and loved little girl.
